Sunridge Canyon

Sunridge Canyon

Sunridge Canyon, Located in Fountain Hills, AZ this 6,700 yard par 71 was not what I  expected for its location. I want to start this off by saying I have never given a course a review like this. However the staff had no explanation and treated me like I had never been on a golf course before.

I will admit the views are unbelievable and extremely pretty and the course layout is very nice. However for $100+ on a round of golf there are some things that should be without question. However from the first to last hole there were many precut holes in the ground covered by felt covered caps that made greens extremely questionable. Sometimes they weren’t even covered. Not only were they inconsistent the greens were also bumpy and gave local muni green vibes, no 4 foot putt rolled true.
Fairways for the amount of rain and time of year were very dry and unattended to. T boxes were dried out and just mangled from no maintenance. I had never played here before, so the yelp review I have pictured is what made me skeptical. But we are here to find every hidden gem!. Good or bad it must be played. So when I asked 3 different staff members I was treated as if I had never done this before. Precut holes on every green should have some sort of explanation right? however we still have none. I would recommend going and playing Fountain Hills golf courses, however stay away from here. This course gets a 4/10 from us and we will not be back.
