Wickenburg Ranch Golf and Social Club is a Arizona staple that has recently gained more attraction and once we got a chance to play we could understand why. This is a public course that does offer private memberships. They have am 18 hole championship golf course and offer a par 3 course to those who are private members. The par 3 course surrounds a bar and is infamously known as, “Li’l Wick”. Located about 65 miles north west of Phoenix makes this a Bit of a drive but worth every bit.
When you pull up to the community you are greeted by a gatekeeper. You then proceed through the neighborhood a bit before pulling up to the golf clubhouse. The drive leads up to the bag drop where you are greeted by their wonderful staff. Their beautiful practice area leaves room for you to work on any aspect of your game. Large driving range and marvelous putting green are 2 of our favorite attributes offered here.
This 7,000+ yard, par 72 golf course has more character than pictures could ever tell. The white sand bunkers and rolling fairways leave you no room to miss off the t-box and around the greens. Each shot needs to be calculated and thought through prior to hitting or you will leave yourself some very testy shots. Winding through a neighborhood, each hole offers so much movement and elevation changes you would never know it till you see it first hand.
If you get the chance to play Wickenburg Ranch Golf and Social Club the experience speaks for itself. In my opinion this is a course design that emulates Arizona mountain golf to its finest degree. Make sure you bring your camera, cause this is a course you will want to remember. Also if you are an AZ native this course is apart of the Troon Pass as well!
